After the game on Saturday, we determined that we won’t be able to game this upcoming Saturday. Rather than waste an opportunity for gaming, we’ll play on Friday night instead.

So, game Friday night, our standard 6:30pm start time. Let me know if you’re going to have problems making it.

UPDATE: Session recap in the comment thread.

Previous game recap–
We started in the cave, where the trail from the previous session had led. We set up a rotating watch; the first watch was clear, but near the end of the second watch we heard noises. The group was quietly woken up and a little missile fire was exchanged. Then Ludwig charged them, followed by Kogor. There were more in the darkness than the two had expected; they were flanked and beat down. [Kev] bravely drew the surviving gnolls off, which allowed Drafen to sneak out and pour healing potions down the two fallen fighter’s throats. Kev’s tactic made all the difference between success and total-party-kill.

The two fighters rose, swigged potions, and charged the ferocious hyena men, killing them just as (Kev) fell to their blows. The bodies provided their equipment and a magical ring.

We spend the next day resting (since there were many wounds to heal) and set off the following morning. The trail followed a narrow plateau between a dry river canyon on one side and the river on the other. Finally we came upon the split– where the old river course had been diverted from the new. There was an artificial cave at the end of the old river.

After some investigating, Ludwig stepped forward and parleyed with the reptilian guards. He was hampered by not having a common language. Eventually he offered them the golden idol from the previous session’s exploration; they brought forward a translator frog who spoke Elven. After some idol licking, Ludwig asked them for their tale… they are exiles from some other plane. Then there was a moment’s confusion as one of the guards leapt up to the ridge to show Ludwig the dam… and he saw the three PCs listening alertly. This was smoothed over and they showed us the (clearly artificial) stone gate that had diverted the river’s flow. With that, the PCs reclaimed their horses and continued along the trail.

A half mile further they came to a dead end; a waterfall coursed down. Kogor scouted behind the waterfall and found a cave with a large stone sarcophagus– very large. Everyone came and joined him; together they puzzled out a mechanism to lift the heavy lid off. They lifted it off… and revealed not a tomb, but a rectangular hole in the ground. Kogor scampered in and found a tunnel leading north and upward… and a bootprint.

The game ended here. XP– Everyone’s at 3000 now, which makes you third level. Everyone gets a feat at third, in addition to whatever your specific class says you get. Hypertext SRD: Classes (http://www.d20srd.org/indexes/classes.htm ) has your save, attack bonus, etc. information if you don’t have the book at home. If anyone has a correction or something to add, this thread’s a good place…

Unfortunatly Tricia will not be there on time this week, PTA is running a movie night that night. She will be there, just be a bit late, I will be there though, no problem.
