Jennifer and I are back from our trip and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone again. I’m looking forward to resuming the game soon– please let me know if you’ll have any trouble making it.
I have had some good discussions with you since I last wrote, so I’m taking this chance to get you all up to speed.
Ben let me know that he’s OK with paying a wizard so far. I think this level will be a turning point, where he’ll have a chance to start feeling like a wizard more consistently. Dad mentioned that Oxido is thinking of taking Scribe Scroll. That sounds fine– in fact, you might want to take the “cultural variation” approach from Complete Mage and pick a non-standard scroll type. I could see Oxido carrying gems, and weaving spells into the fabric of their being… which would also be good for “doesn’t look like a normal wizard”.
Kev is thinking of taking Swordsage instead of Cleric for Lazon, which is cool. I’m still getting my head around the class’s details, but it looks like a great extension of the character concept. We have a little tweaking to finish up before Saturday, but it should be easy to do.
Dad and Jennifer have both been thinking about the extensive overlap in their character roles, and they’re looking at ways to keep their concept and differentiate themselves from each other. I hope it helps them both enjoy their characters even more.
