Next Game: Saturday April 2nd

Woke up, shifted the stuff we carry (amongst the horses & characters) and returned to the cave behind the waterfall. Down through the sarcophagus like opening and into the tunnels. Since we’d cleared 2 branches last week, we cleared the third (yup, just an underground stream) and went down the last tunnel.

It was trapped. As we dealt with the traps, the hiltless sword startled Erisorn by talking to him. After much investigation, it turns out that it was forged long ago by legendary elvish smiths and mages. It dances, can sense things over a distance, and can notice traps and magic. Much of this proved useful.

We traipsed along and bypassed a few nasty traps & got through some doors with the aid of the void magic powered statuette (and the “electricity off” words from the keep).

After many steps up, we came to a dead end. Elvish scouting revealed a secret mechanism to open it. The impossibly thick (and icy) door gave way… so we climbed the steps, following the free floating sword. There was a room with a big magical mirror, evidently a gateway to some alternate universe. From the mirror emerged some red eyed time-wraiths, whose powerful touch sucked life force. Fierce fighting, an unsuccessful turn attempt, and many magic missiles resulted in their death. The mirror was immobile and indestructible, so the PCs moved on.

More climbing the stairs; the path we were on still showed signs of passage. Eventually the passage teed and went on. Hypothesizing a center room, we arbitrarily picked the right path and circled on in. A door was guarded by a drip system mechanism; solving the puzzle gave access to the room. A tough fight erupted, as a demonic(?) alchemist type fought the PCs invisibly, blinking around the room. After a tough fight (its touch inflicted massive pain that crippled Erisorn and Kyah when it touched them), the PCs looked over the room and decided to hole up. It had some magical loot, including a pair of evil katanas…

[End session. Leveled to 4th, so everyone gets a stat point and all of the other normal leveling goodies.]
